We are Marion and Dieter Schmitz. We originally come from the Eifel region in Germany, but in 2012 we decided to begin over again at another location. The decision to live in the Azores  was quickly made. Here in São Miguel, we immediately fell in love with the house and the associated property and, with a lot of love and personal effort, we started the renovation and refurbishing of Quinta Velha. Since the completion, we are pleased to be able to offer our guests, including many frequenters, a temporary home all year round.

Our family also includes animals. The children of our guests are always very happy when they can visit the animals by arrangement and with our companion.
